The Baja-SAE is a competitive event for Undergraduate Engineering students, organised globally by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). Tha Baja-SAE gives the opportunity to the students to design, fabricate, test and validate a single seater, four wheeled, off-road all-terrain vehicle. The series of events occurs over a period of three days that test the vehicle in terms of gradeability, speed, acceleration, maneuverability characteristics and finally its ability to endure the back breaking durability test.

The Second Round/Final Event took place at Indore, India and was hosted by Natrip at its testing facility near Indore.

The event premises were on the outskirts of the city since a big track was needed and grounds for the preliminary tests.

The team consists of 25 members, each assigned to a specific department.

My main role in the team was to do the analysis of the proposed Roll cage Design to the optimum safety measures. The proposed overall design needs to go through thorough inspection and question and answer round, which is the Virtual Round. Clearing this, the team moves to the next and final round.

The secondary role was to design the body panels and plan their manufacturing schedule, process, requirements etc.

Softwares used:

CREO-PTC

ANSYS

Final Results: We stood at rank 27 at the end of the competition out of 313 teams and at rank 9 in the CAD and Analysis Section
